"What is the difference between my
jpg and a vector file?"

Pixelating raster file blown up

Vector file blown up

In order for us to print a nice big logo on your tablecloth or banner, we need to blow up your image.
Jpgs, gifs and tiff files are raster files. Raster files are made up of dots (actually little squares). If you have a low res file (for example, like an image you would get from a website) it will pixelate when we try to blow it up because there are not enough dots per inch (see above).

Ai and eps files are vector files. Vector files are made up of lines, points and curves based on mathematical equations. When vector files are blown up, the entire image recalculates all of the lines in proportion to each other so the entire image stays in tact and never pixelates.

There are high resolution raster image files that we can print but these are very large files (at least a few MB). A good way to test if your raster file is large enough is to blow it up to size in your computer (for a tablecloth images are blown up to about 20") then look at the image in your computer at actual size. Of course since your screen in smaller than 20" you will only see a portion of your logo but you will be able to see if your image is pixlating.

If all you have is a low res file, all is not lost! We do have vector conversion services. We can take most low res files and recreate them to vector. Learn more about our Vector Conversion Services.

If you have any questions, you can always call or email us your file and we can tell you what we can do for you. Email artwork@mvpvisuals.com or call (800) 980-6871 ex. 101
